Senior Games: Catching Analysis

Unsigned Seniors are always a hot commodity and this week we will be rolling out a series of positional analysis from the Senior Games earlier this month. Starting with catchers here is a look at the catchers in attendance in alphabetical order.

Parker Burch, C, Madison Memorial, 2018
5-foot-11, 170-pound catcher, average build. Right-handed hitter, balanced setup, short  lifted stride, gets foot down on time. Path is short, showed occasional bat speed, pull side approach. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. 1-for-2 with a base hit in game. Defensively arm action is short and over the top, arm played at 75 mph. 2.12-2.35 pop times.

Jared Chesak, C, Kewaskum, 2018
6-foot-1, 185-pound catcher, lean frame. Right-handed hitter, balanced setup, short toe tap stride, maintains good balance. Path is level, line drive contact, shows ability to repeat. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played short and over the top, occasional carry, 74 mph, athletic arm action. Feet work out of the crouch, 2.12-2.21.

Isaac Gerhardt, C, Fox Valley Lutheran, 2018
5-foot-10, 170-pound catcher. Left-handed hitter, slightly open stance, short stride, average balance. Path is short, steep at times, line drive type hitter. 93 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action works long and over the top, 74 mph out of the crouch. Exchange gets long at times, 2.26-2.34 pop times. 4.59 runner down the line.
