Stock Report: 2014 RHP Fred Manke

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Today’s player spotlight focuses on Lodi HS two-way player, Fred Manke. Manke is a 2014 graduate who is a dual threat both on the mound and at the plate. Manke has recently been ranked as our No. 4 player in the Wisconsin Class of 2014.

Manke has been making an impact to the Blue Devils roster since his freshman year when he was selected as a first team All-Conference pitcher. He followed that up with a repeat selection his sophomore year as he also led his team in triples (5) and was third in batting average (.375).

Manke is a 6-foot, 180-pound two-way player who impresses on the mound with his easy delivery. Manke’s arm works with little effort, as he shows command of an 83-84 mph fastball, a 66-68 mph curveball with solid bite and depth, and a 73-78 mph changeup, which has a chance to be a legit out pitch showing solid two plane action.  Defensively, Manke moves well in the outfield and plays through the ball well getting behind his accurate throws (85 mph).  Additionally, Manke ran a 7.19 60.
