Stock Report: 2015 RHP Logan Wonn

In the most recent update of Wiscnosin’s 2015 rankings Logan Wonn (Oconomowoc, 2015) jumped up into the top 20 prospects in the state with impressive outings at both the Pitchers Showcase and Analysis and the Southern Wisconsin Prospect ID.Logan Wonn

Wonn is a solidly built 6-foot-2, 210-pound right handed pitcher with a developed lower half and wider shoulders. On the mound he works from a high ¾ arm slot with a loose arm action. His fastball has a heavy feel at 83-84 mph and tops out at 85 mph with consistent sinking action and showed command of the zone. His curveball has 11/5 shape with sharp action and aggressive arm speed at 70-72 mph. Wonn also features a changeup with fading action that shows the ability to be thrown for strikes at 75-78 mph.

Wonn has aspirations of majoring in business ad currently holds a 4.05 GPA and scored a 30 on his ACT.

“I would like to play for a program that has strong pitcher development and allows me to grow and develop as a player. Along with that, I am looking for an opportunity to make an impact right away. I am also looking for a program that has a history of success and has continued that tradition,” said Wonn.

So far Wonn has been in contact with Valparaiso and University of Nebraska – Omaha and has made visits to both.

For now Wonn isn’t setting a timetable for a decision and is more focused on working hard with his offseason program.

“During the offseason I train four days a week with Athlete Performance at their location within STiKS Academy in Oconomowoc. Working with Owner/Trainer Steve Becker and Trainer Taylor Janssen has really helped to make me stronger and more explosive as an athlete. I also take weekly pitching lessons from Doug Henry, who is the Kansas City Royals bullpen coach. He has really helped to refine my mechanics and help me improve as a pitcher.”
