Today’s stock report is on Mitchel Makarewicz. Makarewicz is a Class of 2015 graduate of Oak Creek HS where the right handed pitcher was a big part of the Knights success in 2012. Last season Makarewicz helped to lead Oak Creek to the Summer State Championship. He posted a 3-0 record in 2012 while posting a 3.69 ERA, all while only being a freshman.

Mitchel Makarewicz could be one of the top arms in Wisconsin’s Class of 2015. His long lanky build with long levers is a projectable pitchers frame at 6-foot-3, 165-pounds. His delivery has deception showing erratic rhythm that keeps hitters off balance. Makarewicz get on top of the baseball and works downhill well showing the ability to induce plenty of groundballs. His arm works long and quick operating from a high ¾ arm slot.

Makarewicz’s fastball sits 83-84 mph while touching 85 mph. His fastball has dynamic action featuring late arm side run producing good life in the zone. His curveball showed feel; slurve action at 68-71 mph with occasional sharp bite. Makarewicz also throw a changeup with feel as well. At 70-73 mph he throws it for strikes with slight sink and a deceptive arm action. He also featured a forkball at 71-74 mph. The action is erratic but flashed occasional advanced depth.

Makarewicz will be a high follow pitcher in the Wisconsin summer high school season as he will look to lead Oak Creek to another state championship.
