Underclass Trials: Quick Hits

The Underclass Trials took place on Wednesday June 21st at The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, Wisconsin. Today we kick off the event analysis with Quick Hits of top performers from the event. Here’s a quick look at some notes from Wednesday’s event, stay tuned for more coverage from this event and prospects.

+     2019 RHP/SS Jacob Arndt (Oconomowoc) has a loose, quick arm action on the mound and topped out at 83 mph with his fastball. He has feel for his changeup with running action at 71-73 mph. On the infield his throws showed carry across at 84 mph.

+     Corner infielder Tyler Brandenburg (Lake Country Lutheran, 2019) is coming off a stellar sophomore campaign this spring where he earned Division III District VI Player of the Year after hitting .435. He put his bat on display Wednesday peppering the left field wall with a wood bat proving there’s serious pop in his right-handed bat. Brandenburg recorded the top exit velocity of the day at 99 mph. .

+     2021 RHP Zach Peterson (Oak Creek) has an athletic frame and showed a feel for three pitches. His fastball sat 74-77 mph and showed feel for a sharp breaking curveball at 65-66 mph.

+     2019 RHP Riley Garczynski (Marquette) works from a low ¾ arm angle and sat 77-80 mph with his fastball with heavy sinking action. Changeup has sinking action at 68-71 mph.

+     2020 catcher Thomas Otto (Appleton North) is a physical 6-foot, 180-pounds and showed well behind the dish and showed an even stronger right-handed bat. Otto flashed gap to gap pop with strong hands and an aggressive swing.
