Wisconsin makes splash in 2015 Overall Rankings

The 2015 Overall Rankins were recently updated and the state of Wisconsin made its presence felt. With a new No. 1 and the list expanded to 350, the Badger state contributed 21 prospects to the list, the most it’s ever contributed.

C Pete Schuler (St. Joseph) and RHP Bryant Jordan (Home School) kept their top 50 rankings while Doran Turchin (Oak Creek), an Illinois commit made a considerable climb joining them in the top 50.Alexander Lee

Eight new Wisconsin natives made the top 350 this time around. The highest ranked newcomer to the Overall Rankings was RHP Alex Lee (Stevens Point) at No. 156. Previously unranked, Lee made a strong case for himself at the Madison Preseason I.D. where he showcased an 86-88 mph fastball coupled with a hard 76 mph curveball with late action.

MIF Cade Bunnell (Stoughton), LHP Dakota Klein (Bay Port), LHP Jack Collins (Denmark), MIF McCauley Cox (Janesville Craig), RHP Logan McShane (Wisconsin Lutheran), RHP Riley Wikel (Muskego) and C Marshall Gilbert (Westosha Central) all made the top 350 for the first time.

Xavier commit, RHP Mitchel Makarewicz (Oak Creek) made the biggest jump leaping 60 spots to No. 119. RHP Dustin Landers (Kaukauna) moved his way up into the top 100 after a strong showing this winter as well.

With the 2015 rankings now in the rear view mirror, the 2016 rankings will be the focus and look for Wisconsin to make an even more impressive splash in that class.
