By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting

Zach GuthWeek 4 of the Fall College Prospect Program got started with a stop today at Thiel College and the day belonged to LHP Zach Guth. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound lefty has had a breakout fall and continued his impressive string of outings on the mound with six strikeouts in three innings of work. He sat 84-86 with significant arm side run to his fastball and showcased a cut fastball at 82-84 mph. Guth commanded both of his secondary pitches as well including a 77 mph curveball and a 74 mph changeup that showed late downward action.

Guth has now struck out 26 batters in 12 innings of work through four weekends of the fall program. The lefty has seen his stock grow dramatically this summer and fall and is primed to make a significant jump in the PA Class of 2015 rankings when they are updated next in October.
