Just two days removed from a heart-breaking loss to Parkersburg South in the championship of the Ed Carter Memorial Tournament, the Lincoln Cougars were the unfortunate recipients of some unresolved anger. The Redskins scored five in the first, 18 in the third and one in the fourth to invoke the mercy rule 24-0.

Hurricane was the beneficiary of 11 walks to go along with 12 hits in four trips to the plate. Austin Hensley, Tate Brock and Zach Pate each had three RBI. Trey Dawson, Hensley, Riley Metz, Tyson Edwards and J.T. Rogoszewski all had doubles. Pate added a triple, as half of the Hurricanes hits went for extra bases.

Justin Crouch went the distance on the hill yielding three hits, while striking out four.
