Boonsboro 3, Musselman 2

On a day when mother nature affected much of the schedule statewide the Musselman Applemen traveled to Maryland for a game at Boonsboro. While the weather cooperated, the home team did not.

Musselman jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning when Nick Haman singled with one out, stole second and scored on a two out single by Gerritt Myers.

After Boonsboro scored two runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st inning the Appelmen tied the game at 2-2 in the 3rd when Brett Linton walked, advanced to second on a passed ball and scored on a single by Hunter Burcker and an RBI groundout by Haman.

Boonsboro scored the go-ahead and what turned out to be the winning run in the bottom of the 6th inning on a lead-off triple followed by a single. Jordan Ambrose was the hard luck loser going all six innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out three.

Four Boonsboro pitchers combined to hold Musselman to four hits while registering eight strikeouts. Burcker went 2-for-3 to pace the Applemen offense.
