Initial Class of 2015 Player Rankings Released

MinnickWith two months under our belts evaluating talent in the state of West Virginia we are now able to announce the initial Top 10 prospects in the Class of 2015. With the upcoming West Virginia Open ID Showcase set for July 16 at Alderson-Broaddus University, prospects from around the state will have an opportunity to showcase their skills for our staff and college coaches in hopes of being added to the rankings when they are updated again this fall.

The No. 1 spot in the initial rankings belongs to Logan HS SS/RHP Zach Minnick. The 6-foot, 190-pound prospect comes off a standout 2013 high school season which culminated with him being named to the Class AAA All-State 1st Team as a sophomore. For the season, Minnick went 7-2 on the mound with a 1.38 ERA and had 53 strikeouts and 11 walks in 51 innings of work. At the plate, he also batted .535 with six homers and 39 RBIs. Minnick, totaled 10 doubles, three triples and also had team-highs in runs scored (29), hits (43), singles (26), total bases (75), slugging percentage (.904) and stolen bases (11).

Following Minnick in the next three spots in the rankings are Hurricane HS teammates C Tate Brock, RHP J.T. Rogoszewski and SS Trey Dawson.
