Junior Spotlight: C/3B Connor Moffatt

By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting

Connor MoffattThe George Washington Patriots went 21-11 in 2013 and Connor Moffatt had much to do with that success. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound right-handed hitter had a solid sophomore campaign, hitting .359 with 10 doubles. Moffatt is one of a core group of nine juniors that gained valuable experience in 2013. The Patriots should continue to improve on the success of 2013 with 20 of 22 players from last year's roster returning for the 2014 season.

Moffatt has added a weekend trip to Pennsylvania to his preseason schedule in preparations for his junior season. The No. 20 ranked prospect in the WV Class of 2015 will participate in the Pennsylvania Preseason All-State Showcase as a third baseman on February 15 and as a catcher on February 16.

The 2013 Preseason All-State Showcase was a one day event with 108 prospects in attendance. To date, 51 of those players have gone on to make college baseball commitments. The 2014 Preseason All-State Showcase has been expanded to two days with position players working out on February 15 followed by pitchers and catchers displaying their talents on February 16.
