Mingo Bay Classic - Day Three Notebook

The 2015 Mingo Bay Classic moved into Day Two of pool play on Tuesday with Nitro scoring the biggest win of the day, a 1-0 pitcher's duel over Myrtle Beach HS. Following is a recap of games that PBR staff scouted along with results from games at other tournament locations.

 

South Charleston 12, Madonna 2

Jonathan PauleyThe Black Eagles moved to 5-1 on the season and 3-0 in pool play in Myrtle Beach. Josh Booth and Michael Lore combined on a five inning no-hitter with Booth going the first three for the win while walking two and striking out four. Lore registered five punch outs in his two innings of work. Jared Hill led the offensive attack going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI. Jonathan Pauley (pictured right) also doubled while driving in two runs.

Battelfield (VA) 1o, Nitro 0

A solid start to the Mingo Bay Classic took an abrupt turn for the Wildcats who were no-hit while committing seven errors in a a run shortened loss in their final game of pool play action.
