The 2015 Mingo Bay Classic moved into Day Two of pool play on Tuesday with Nitro scoring the biggest win of the day, a 1-0 pitcher's duel over Myrtle Beach HS. Following is a recap of games that PBR staff scouted along with results from games at other tournament locations.

Oak Glen 7, Central Pageland (SC) 6

Oak Glen sent 10 hitters to the plate and scored six runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but it was the solo run that they scored in the bottom of the 6th inning that proved to be the game winner. The Golden Bears got a quality start from Noah Feicht and offense from the entire lineup with hits from six players. Feicht (2-for-3, run) was the lone Golden Bear to register more than one safety. Oak Glen also benefited by coaxing three walks and being hit by two pitches in bouncing back from their first day loss.

East Fairmont 10, Keenan (SC) 5

The Bees battled back from an early 3-0 deficit to move to 2-0 in pull play. East Fairmont was bolstered by the return of junior Tanner Lambert (pictured right), ranked No. 38 in the WV Class of 2015, to the lineup. Lambert missed the Bees opening game win of the tournament due to illness but returned to the lineup at first base last night. The C/RHP is likely to make a start on the bump on Wednesday or when the Bees move into semifinals action on Thursday.

Nitro 1, Myrtle Beach (SC) 0

The Wildcats rode the left arm of Kipp Brewer (pictured right) to a solid 1-0 win over Myrtle Beach HS to move to 2-0 in pool play. Matt Harrison went 2-for-3, including a 1st inning home run that turned out to be all the offense that Nitro would muster. Brewer gave up just one hit in a 93 pitch masterpiece while walking just one. The West Virginia State recruit threw just 29 balls in his complete game effort, while throwing first pitch strikes to 16 of the 25 batters that he faced.
