Zach MinnickPrep Baseball Report began operations in West Virginia in May of 2013 and Zach Minnick (Logan HS) sat in the No. 1 spot in the initial West Virginia Class of 2015 rankings. His place in the initial rankings was largely based on two very solid seasons of high school baseball. He solidified that ranking with his performance at the first ever Prep Baseball Report event in West Virginia, the WV Open ID Showcase in July.

Minnick impressed the college coaches and PBR staff in attendance at Alderson Broaddus University with his arm strength (1.87-1.95 pop times, 85-88 off the mound), his bat speed (96 mph bat exit velocity) and his foot speed (7.12 60-yard dash). The 6-foot, 215-pound C/3B earned a spot on the Team PA roster at the Midwest Future Games as a result of his performance.

On the big stage, in front of over 100 colleges, Minnick was even more impressive. His trip to Indiana University began with Minnick turning heads with a top pop time of 1.79 during defensive evaluations. Minnick went on to showcase his power potential at the plate with a double against Team Ohio and a game winning two-run home run against Team Illinois. For good measure, he showed his athleticism by sitting 85-88 on the mound.

Minnick will now spend the fall making college visits and narrowing down college choices. The talented Logan HS prospect reports that he will be making unofficial visits to, "Indiana, West Virginia, Louisville, Virginia Tech and most likely Ole Miss". He has leaped nearly 50 spots in the updated PBR 2015 combined rankings to No. 19.
