By Greg Williams
WV Director of Scouting

The 2015 Preseason All-State Showcase is just days away and in anticipation we will be looking back on top performances from previous years at the premier event of the winter. Today we highlight one of the top bullpen sessions to be thrown in the first two years of this event.

Adam Seibert, RHP, Class of 2014 (Episcopal Academy)

The 2013 Preseason All-State Showcase began at 11:00am and roughly nine hours later the final three pairings of pitchers were all that were left to end the day. The event was filled with highly ranked prospects in every class and at every position. While impressive performances were turned in by many players in the first eight hours, what took place in the final 15 minutes was the highlight of the day.

Adam SeibertRHP Adam Seibert took the mound at 8:00pm and immediately sent a buzz through the crowd with an 89 mph first pitch fastball. The 6-foot-6, 205-pound prospect from Episcopal Academy went on to touch 91 mph three times in an electric bullpen session. Seibert has a high 3/4 delivery and a quick arm that works in rhythm with his lower half. He had difficulty getting on top of his 74 mph curveball, but his 82 mph changeup was thrown at fastball arm speed and showed good arm side run. Seibert added 10-15 pounds and 4-5 mph on his fastball during the fall and winter leading up to the event. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound righty, ranked No. 21 in the final Class of 2014 rankings, is currently a freshman on the pitching staff at Hofstra University.
