3-7-16
5-foot-10, 210-pound right hand hitting catcher.  Ran a 7.25 60.  Balanced and level at the plate.  Strong lower half through the ball with short extension at contact.  Shows quick hands and turns well on the inside pitch but also has opposite field power.  He had a 92 MPH exit velocity off a tee.  Behind the plate he is as good as it gets in the state of Colorado. Handley is solid on balls in the dirt and showcases a quick transfer and 83 MPH very accurate arm. Also has very quick feet. Plays with a ton of confidence defensively.  Pop-times were 1.76-1.82 off a coach.
6-15-15
A 5-foot-10, 200 pound senior who moves well behind the plate and handles a high powered pitching staff on daily basis in the summer.  Handley displayed a 1.92 and 1.94 pop-time in each of the games we saw him.  The right-handed hitter collected 6 hits and 1 homerun in the tournament.
5-12-15
Committed to Stanford and is currently the No. 2 ranked player in the 2016 class and No. 51 overall. Maverick went 2-3 in the district championship game notching a double and single. He displays such a good approach at the plate, is a smart hitter.  One particular at bat was during a 2-2 count, ball was thrown on the inner half of the plate and rather than getting out front and hooking the ball, he kept his hands inside the ball nicely.  Nice level swing, high hands to contact, with excellent extension and drive through the ball.  Stands at the plate with an open stance, and a stocky, athletic build, covers the plate very well with his bat.
3-1-15
Highly physical 2016 prospect, shows advanced strength, 5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher and middle infielder. Handley was one of the most eye-catching prospects at the event. Hitting from the right side he showed easy explosive bat speed. Posted exit velocity of 90 MPH from the tee. Hit from a balanced stance, lower half worked well, good balance throughout. Advanced bat speed, impressive whip through the zone. Ran a 4.35 home to first.  Defensively showed soft hands behind the plate, highly agile, high flexibility. Arm played at 77 MPH from the crouch, over the top slot, with accuracy and carry. Recorded event best 1.78 pop time. Handley is physically impressive, it is obvious to see he puts in hard work and should progress at a steady pace. The right-handed hitting catcher is a high follow in Colorado and the region.
8-30-14 5-foot-10, 190 pound catcher/2B. Throws and bats right. Handley has a balanced athletic stance that creates explosive bat speed with a slight uphill swing with good extension through the zone. Ball explodes off the bat. In game we watched had a grand slam, and almost another home run. Good looking prospect and very good student with a  plus 4.0 GPA and a 32 ACT score.

3/10/19: Aggressive backstop with great energy and a bulldog mentality. Brings tremendous presence to the field for the Cardinal. Defensively, he's solid in all areas. Possesses an above average-to-plus arm with a quick release; POP time of 2.07. Throws behind runners at any time while making very accurate throws in the process. Thwarted a potential Longhorn rally in the 7th inning of Saturday's game by throwing behind and picking off the runner on second base with no outs. In 15 games so far this spring, opposing runners have only attempted two stolen bases. Behind the dish he sits low to the ground, is quick, agile and blocks well. From the leadoff spot in the order, Handley sees the ball well and uses a middle of the field, contact approach. He's not a pure hitter, but he grinds at-bats and puts the bat on the ball. He does have some strength to his swing, but possesses below average raw power and is not much of a threat to go up top. He's also an aggressive, above average runner underway who tallied 11 stolen bases last season and four already in 2019. Overall, Handley has the tools and intangibles for success at the next level...did I mention he's also a bioengineering major who would like to become an orthopedic surgeon. (Seifert)

11/5/18: Medium frame, solid build with physical upper half and athletic lower. Slightly open stance with even hands; stays quiet through load before being getting level and driving through the ball gap to gap. Very loud bat showed extra base ability in game with double off the wall and just missing a pitch for a F7. During BP showed raw pull power into LCF gap. Normally a catcher, he took BP/INF at 3B and started game there. Showed loose hips at the hot corner with shorter range; ability to open his hips and make top ball play. Average arm with longer actions before quick release; times where he looked like he measured the distance on throws in game but was fine with the routine. Athletic runner who gets to full speed quickly and strong baserunning ability including stolen bases (4.4-4.56 H-1st). Really liked his game and if his catching continues to be as good this spring, should complete a very strong draft profile. (Ozella)

8/15/18: Five-foot-ten, 195 pounds, Handley is an aggressive backstop with a bulldog mentality. Possesses a plus arm with a quick release. And he likes to show it. Routinely back picks runners on any base, any count, any time. Very accurate throws. POP time to second 1.95 to the bag. Sits low to the ground, agile behind the plate and blocks well. Offensively, has strength to his swing. Will get jumpy at the plate. Below average raw power, not much of a threat to go up top, but will put the ball in play. Struck out 25 times in 125 plate appearances. Aggressive, above average runner, tallied 11 stolen bases. What he lacks in stature, he makes up with tools, skills and intangibles. (Seifert)
