3/8/17

5-foot-9, 180-pound, strong, thick, durable athletic frame. The lower half is strong, and back is wide. A left-handed pitcher, who works entirely from the set position. I’ve had the opportunity to see him a bunch over the past two years and this was by far the best he's pitched. The delivery is simple, weight stays back, gets to a good gather position, strong on the backside and pitches downhill. The arm action is short on the backside, ball comes out of a high ¾ slot, gets on the hitter quick, pounded it well to the glove side. The fastball was clocked at 77-78 mph, located it down in the zone in this outing. The breaking ball has 12/6 top to bottom rotation, clocked at 64-66 mph, was located for good low strikes. The changeup was clocked at 67-71 mph, has a small hump to it. Times to the plate were at 1.15-1.40, mixed in a slide step. A left-hander with the ability to spin the breaking ball for a strike is a huge asset. Someone to stay on and to follow.

7/12/16
5-feet-8, 180-pounds, left-handed pitcher with a short athletic frame and strong bottom half. Delivery is repeatable, compact and clean. Hands come set at mid chest and raise with leg. Hands are quick, ball comes out of a high-¾ slot with downhill tilt and a short stride. The fastball was mid- 70’s, working down in the zone. Change-up was best off speed on the day, sitting 66-68 mph with plus downward action. The curveball was 64-68 with loopy 12-6 action. Worked quickly, attacked and was aggressive going after hitters, which controlled the running game. Third PBR event, continues to impress and he competes well on the mound. Someone to follow, will be very tough on left-handed hitters.

3/2/16
5-foot-8, 170-pound athletic body frame, lower half is strong, has room to get stronger. A left-handed pitcher, the delivery is under control, hands start mid chest and raise with leg raise. The arm action has some length on the backside, the path is down to up and comes out of a high-¾ slot. The finish is good and he gets good extension on release. The fastball was 77-79 mph, gets on the hitter quick and he pounded it to both sides. The breaking ball was 64-67 mph, depth could be better, slider may be the way to go, with his good hand speed. The changeup was clocked at 69-72 mph, showed good downward action to it. Times to the plate were 1.68-1.75, could be slightly quicker and his leg raise could be shorter. Gets across his body at times but finish is good, solid looking left-hander who likes to compete.

11/15/15
A left-handed pitcher, showed very well at this event. The frame is on the smaller side, but gets everything out of his body. The delivery is sound, leg kick is smooth and hands are set at chin high. The separation is clean, arm slot is high-¾, pulls off some on finish, could get  more extension out front. The fastball was 77-78 and pounded for strikes down in the zone. Showed solid feel for his true curve ball at 62-65, good top to bottom rotation. Changeup was at 61-63, slows down on it, with work and reps, it's an easy fix. The future is bright, needs to continue to get stronger, but the foundation is there, someone to stay on, will be interesting to see him develop.
