3/19/17

6-foot, 155-pound, long, lengthy athlete. The neck is long, shoulders are rounded, has plenty of room for future development. An above average athlete for his age, his legs and arm are his best tools, ran a 7.0 flat sixty-yard dash. A right-handed hitter, the stance is wider than shoulder width and slightly open, sits in a small crouch position, hands are loose at shoulder height, bat starts in a good flat position, has some tilt to it. For timing has a small buckle of front knee, picks foot up and places back down, the hands stay back are loaded up in a good hitting position. The swing path is down to contact and level through the hitting zone, approach is more to the pull side. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 76 mph, finishes the swing at shoulder height. Defensively, has a good flow, actions are good, hands are soft. The feet moved throughout, arm action is short and clean, works out of a ¾ slot, clocked at 77 across the diamond. The baseball has good carry and jumps out of his hand. The double play feeds were on time and smooth, could work on footwork on slow roller, easy fix with reps. Off the mound this right-handed pitcher, has a simple repeatable delivery, gets inline and is squared up to the plate on release. The arm action is clean on the backside, comes out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball was clocked at 75-78 mph with real good action to the arm side. The breaking ball is more of a slurvy hammer, clocked at 58-59 mph, needs to be thrown harder, shows the proper shape to it. The changeup is an above average pitch, good action to armside with some depth to it, clocked at 63 mph. Times to the plate were at 1.62. Pounded the zone with strikes with all three pitches. Good follow, time will tell which way he will go.

Sixty-yard dash: 7.0
Exit Velocity: 76 mph
Arm Velocity: 77 mph

10/30/16

Rangy and athletic right-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher. On the mound, pitches out of a slightly higher than ¾ slot as he tilts his head, pulls the front shoulder off target, making the slot raise up. The delivery is athletic, direction and slot adjustment need to be cleaned up to tap all the way into potential. The fastball touched 76 mph with run to it. The spin pitch is big, needs more fastball hand speed to it, sits at 62 mph. The changeup is headed in the right direction, sitting 68 mph. Positionally, showed very well. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 77 mph as he needs physical strength. The set up is even with his feet and the hands are even. The swing plane is flat and the finish is low. Needs to work above the ball a bit more. The hands are extremely quick and fast. The bottom half of the swing is under control. Ran a 4.7 down the line on his dig. At shortstop, showed soft and solid hands, with plenty of arm to make all the throws. Threw 79 mph across the diamond out of a ¾ slot, the arm is fast.
