6-foot-2, 230-pound, large, wide, physical frame. The hands and wrists have strength to them, shoulders are squared off and back is wide. A right-handed hitter, the stance is even, feet are close together. For timing uses a higher leg kick, has a controlled longer stride, glides out. The hands are set at shoulder height, are loose, have a little movement to them and bat starts in a flat position. The hands get back into a good loaded position when he strides out. The swing is level to up, more of a pull approach, shows above average power to the pull side. Finishes the swing with two hands, could stay through it and slightly straighter with the path. The swing is smooth and works freely through the zone. Defensively, worked from the ground up, hands are soft, work well with feet, got in line in starting the double play and closed the down the front side. The arm action is short, ball comes out of a ¾ slot, clocked at 69 mph across the diamond. Behind the plate, setup is wide, looks to be balanced and relaxed, gets side saddled, needs to square up more. The feet replace each other in transfer, glove gets to hand, arm action is short and clean. Pop times were 2.13-2.20 and arm was clocked at 72 mph. Big right-handed hitter, strength in his swing, projects more as a first baseman. Regimented conditioning program will help in his development.
