2/14/16

Second event for Abbey. Had another solid showing. Hits from the right side, feet are close together at shoulder width apart. Hands are set just above shoulder and bat starts flat behind his head. Hands and weight get back, uses a small leg kick for timing purposes, the stride provides some juice to the swing. The path is down, level through the zone with a slightly uphill finish, with two hands. Shows to a have some raw power in his swing. Hands have natural strength to them. The tee exit velocity was 86 mph, with more still in there. Ran a 7.24 60-yard dash, should be a little better come spring time. In the field, he showed an arm of 78 mph from the outfield, up a little from the fall. Attacks the ball, shows a clean transfer, feet and crow hop work smoothly. The frame is athletic, plenty of room to fill out. Definite follow for me, someone to go see this spring time.

10/11/15
At 5-foot-10, 165-pounds, the frame is athletic, hands and wrists have natural strength to them.  At the plate hits the right side, stance is even and balanced, stride is short and simple, could get more out of the stride. The hands are loose and really work, path to ball is good, then it gets uphill quick, in and out of zone fast. With reps and more coaching will keep barrel in zone longer. The bat speed is plus, tee exit velocity was 85, with a ton more in there. Legs are above average, ran a 4.28 down the line. In the outfield, good prep steps footwork was good, came through ball. Backside could be a little stronger, arm slot lower for an outfielder. The arm strength was 76 on the gun. Showed well at workout, definite follow for me, need to see in spring.
