5/13/16- Valdosta State recruit. Strong, projectable build on a 6-foot-3, 210 pound frame. Primarily a pitcher where he been up to 90 on the mound, Cain stood out at first base with good instincts and his ability to pick it on some off target throws to the bag. Good leadership qualities in the field. Quick hands at the plate with good hand-eye and can square the ball with some pull side approach. Flied out deep to left field twice and laced a hard single down the left field line during the game. Runs the bases aggressively, good athlete.
4/27/16- Valdosta State University recruit. Strong, athletic build on a 6-foot-3, 210 pound frame. Throws out of the high ¾ arm slot with a leg kick and lean back before he delivers. Falls off to the side frequently on his follow through. Fastball sat 87-89 mph with lots of movement, touched 90 a couple times in the first inning. Curveball sat 74-76 mph with good bite and depth. Competes and works quickly. Cain also showed the ability to square it up with good hand eye and loft in his swing. Homered over the left field wall and had a hard line drive single up the middle during the game. Aggressive on the base paths, plays with energy.

8-1-2018: The talented righthander showed some potential at Valdosta this past season, tallying 75 strikeouts and walking 27 in 58 innings. He’s taken another step forward this summer, too, tallying a 1.34 ERA in 47 innings, along with 50 strikeouts and just 13 walks. In addition to showing good command of the zone, the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, also is showing quality stuff. Cain has a physical frame with a thick lower half and attacked hitters with a fastball ranging 88-90 and up to 91 mph. Cain also showed strong feel for a 78-79 mph slider, which led to a strikeout in his inning of work. His progress as a prospect will be interesting to follow as he returns to Valdosta for another season. (K Rogers)
