4/05/19

He went six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out 10. He threw 74 percent of his pitches for strikes, sitting 91-93 and touching 94. His slider ranged from 75-81, flashing average, though he was getting around it some too. His changeup was heavy at 82-85 with sink.

2/22/19

Vanderbilt recruit, Williams started out 89-92, with slight arm-side run at the bottom of the zone, and dipped to 87-89 in his second inning. He was wrapping around his breaking ball, which sat in the mid 70s, causing it to have flatter, slurvy action. In two innings, Williams allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out three.

03/29/18- Vanderbilt recruit. The high waist, lanky right handed pitcher looks to have filled out some of his big frame, especially in the lower half. Working from a high 3/4 slot, he has a full arm swing. The fastball was up to 94 mph on the first, but settled in at 90-92 mph. He can get short on the stride coming down the mound at times, which leads to him not getting fully extended. When extended, the fastball gets on hitters and has heavy tilt, down in the zone. Both offspeed pitchers were better when extended. The change up worked 81-83 mph with some fade, while the curveball worked 73-74 mph. Te arm works really well and both the arm action and frame are very projectable. The offspeed will need to improve, but have quality shape. Overall, he has a very high ceiling.

10/24/17- The Vanderbilt recruit, might have had the results that he may have wanted, but he did showcase a quick, strong right arm that allowed him to run his fastball up to 93 mph, and sit 91-93 early on. The tall, 6-foot-6, 185-pound right-hander releases out of a near over the top slot while creating a downward plane. His fastball featured some sink at times. Williams sparingly threw his curveball, but it showed tight spin at 74-75 while taking 11/5 shape.

03/22/17- Vanderbilt recruit. Currently stands at 6-foot-6, 180 pounds with a tall, lean frame with long legs. Projectable frame to build on. Went six innings on the mound and only allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out four. The fastball was mostly 87-88 mph that showed some life along with a 78-79 mph changeup and a 72-73 mph slider that had depth. More velocity to come as he logs more innings on the mound. High ¾ to over the top arm action. At times can be inconsistent on his landing and follow through.

03/14-17 - He went 2-for-4 for at the plate including a hard line drive triple down the LF line with a run scored. Swing can get a little long at times. Strong arm and good hands at 3B. Tall athlete with a projectable frame to build on. Vanderbilt recruit. (IMG Classic Day 1)

Plays solid defense at third base, still stands up to make the throw across the diamond. Swing can get a little long at the plate, but shows some pull side pop with quick hands through the zone.
