Slick fielding player from Florida that demonstrated solid tools at the event. Ran a 4.47 down the line on a dig to first base. In the field, showed very well. Made all the plays in the game and showed an above average arm and soft hands. Threw 83 across the diamond, with more to come. Could play shortstop or second base in the future, as he handles the pivot from both sides. The bat has good life to it, needs a bit of strength, but the tools to hit are there. Tee exit velocity of 82 mph. The setup is even footed with a low hand start. The front foot is picked up and put down prior to contact. Does a nice job keeping the barrel flat through the zone. Good looking player.
1/17/15 Florida Preseason ID Showcase - Serge is a very young kid with a loose body that lacks physical strength now. He showed a good, balanced hit approach. He stays back and is short to the ball. His exit speed was 71. He displayed some arm strength along with accuracy at shortstop. He threw 75 mph across the infield. On the mound he had a loose arm with a high ¾ slot. His velocity was 73-78 with a small tail and some downward tilt. His curveball flashed occasional late action. Had downward 12/6 type rotation with some occasional depth. Very young guy that will improve with added strength. Ran a 7.8, 60 yard dash.
