9/18/16- Rodruck showed his steady ability on mound. Consistent strike thrower at 83-84 mph in his stint. Separator is breaking ball with sharp break and tight 11/5 shape.
8/7/16- 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; controlled delivery, front shoulder tilt, with short stride down mound, tall at release. Fastball was downhill, straight, at 80-84 mph. 12-6 breaking ball has sharp break and depth. Changeup has heavy feel with wobbly action for strikes. Tall open stance, strides to square with double tap, easy load with clean bath path through zone, good bat speed, stays on and through contact, works middle of field well, 86 mph exit velocity. Good angles, works through baseball, fields on side at times, above avg. carry and accuracy on throws, 85 mph arm strength.
3/13/16- 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitting utility player. 7.24 60 time. Arm bar to start. Minimal rhythm. Slightly open stance- strides to square. Inverted swing plane. Middle/away contact. Flashes of pop in bat. Consistent solid contact. 87 mph exit velocity. New to catching. Solid skill set and should be good option for him with polish and reps. Quick feet and clean exchanges. Receiving will improve with experience. Avg./ok footwork- tends to throw uphill. 2.16 pop time with 75 mph arm strength. Shows avg. feet with sure hands at third base. Throws have good carry with accuracy to bag at 84 mph. Shows tempo in delivery. Slightly uncontrolled front leg with upright finish. Arm works relatively easy producing 81-84 mph fastballs. 12/6 breaking ball has tight rotation to plate. Good fade and solid feel for changeup in zone.
8/4/15- 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Good body control on mound. Solid tempo and ability to repeat. Short finish on release. Fastball shows varying cut and sink at 80-83 mph. Throws an above avg. breaking ball with 12/6 shape-tight rotation- and depth. Changeup has average sinking action with fade at 73-75 mph. 7.43 runner. Has strength. Lift in swing. Spray approach. Uses whole field. Flashes pop in bat. 85 mph exit velocity off tee. Fields out front. Usable hands and feet at third base. Winds up to throw. Average accuracy to bag with above avg. arm strength. 85 mph across.
Preseason All-State 3/15/15
6-foot, 195-pound 2-way player. Solid build. Ran a 7.38 60. Easy delivery on mound with balance and coordination. Good direction to plate. Short arm action from OT slot with quickness. Has solid life on fastball. Fastball was 80-82 mph. Sharp 12/6 breaking ball for strikes. Has ability to show in zone and take away at 71-72 mph. Changeup for strikes with ok fade. Strong follow for 2017 class. Crouched stance. Strides slightly closed into contact. Some strength in swing. Uses whole field. Shows some power to middle of field. 79 mph exit velocity off tee. Shows some quickness and body control in field. Glove is solid. Makes routine plays. Plays tall at times. Shows ok arm across with plus carry and accuracy. Would benefit from following throws across diamond and creating better direction. 83 mph arm strength across.
Underclass Showcase October 2014
5-foot-11, 190-pound 2-way player. 8.05 60 time. Right-handed hitter with easy gradual load. Simple swing. Not a lot of wasted movement. Balanced stride with minimal weight shift through contact. Uphill swing plane. Fly ball hitter. 78 mph exit velocity. Average foot-speed and tends to field up to down. Average glove. Throws from mid ¾ slot with velocity of 80 mph across diamond. Balanced delivery with rhythm; arm works cleanly. Strides in-line and lands open. Throws mostly upper body with minimal extension and finish. Fastball was straight with decent velocity for 2017. 11/5 breaking ball with some power rotation. Erratic changeup command with toppling action thrown at near fastball arm speed.
