5/6/15 5-foot-9, 170-pound, explosive athlete at the second base position. Showed soft hands, simple/balanced footwork while moving to his left and right. Strong core allows him to maintain his balance while making throws from different angles. Moderately wide, open stance at the plate makes for quite a bit of punishment on balls on the inner half. This could be seen on each of his doubles to left field. Little to no head movement on a very balanced, aggressive swing. Took pitches confidently, showed strong hands with the ability to adjust pitch to pitch. An above average runner, 4.0 home to first, 4.75 twice on the turn.   High end high school infielder with some power potential down the road.

4.27.15 - 5-foot-7, 155-pound, right-handed hitting second baseman. Michigan commit currently ranked No. 22 in the Illinois Class of 2015. Showed one of the best eyes at the plate I’ve seen this spring. Consistently laid off pitchers pitches on the corners working 2 walks in game. In the game showed soft sure hands making a pick on an in between hop ranging glove side.

4/26/14 Michigan commit. Ranked No. 21 in Illinois’ class of 2015, No. 76 overall. 5-foot-7, 150-pound frame, muscular, not much room for projection.  Advanced actions in infield, aggressive confident defender, comes and gets baseball, turning plays most would stay back on into easy run through type balls.  Showed quick release, average arm strength, enough carry to probably play short based on quick release and actions.  Ranged well in all directions.  Could probably play anywhere on the diamond.  Hit from a slightly open stance getting back to square, some loft in swing, hands finish high, swing looked to get a little long at times.  Grounded to short twice, jammed inside on last at bat on a double play, ran 4.58 to first.  Average/below average straight line speed, but impressive agility in the field.

4/24/13 Athletic middle infielder, shows above average defensive actions. Arm plays from second base, quick release, confident defender. Offensively hits from a slightly wide stance, opposite field approach, line drive hitter.

1/22/12 Thomas is a 5-foot-6, 140-pound middle infielder who showed soft hands and good range laterally.  He took clean routes to the ball and will continue to get better as he physically develops.  Offensively, Thomas hits from an open setup. He demonstrated advanced rhythm and approach, as he remains quiet and compact throughout his swing. He has loose hands and creates impressive barrel whip through the zone. The power he generates certainly belies his size: the ball jumps off his bat with authority and carry. Additionally, Thomas ran a 7.38 60.
