6.13.13 - 5-foot-10, 140-pound left handed hitting catcher. Defensively uses an over the top arm slot, shows accuracy with slight carry, 76 mph from the crouch. Shows above average footwork out of the crouch, pop times ranged from 1.97-2.08. Offensively hits from the left side out of a slightly wider and open stance, no stride approach. Pull side approach, hits off back side, line drive guy, above average balance throughout.

6/12/12 Freund is a 5-foot-10, 140-pound multi-positional talent who showed quick feet and arm strength as a catcher and in the infield. Behind the plate, Freund exhibited advanced receiving skills and lateral agility. He had consistent pop times, with his best at 2.05, all strikes on the bag. At shortstop, Freund moved well, displaying athletic footwork and a solid arm (82 mph). Offensively, Freund swings from the left side and has a solid line drive approach. He creates rhythm in his swing, maintaining balance throughout contact.

2/20/12 Freund showed extremely well from behind the plate, posting the best pop time of 1.91. He followed up that time with pop times of 1.95 and 1.97 with throws that were dead on the bag and clocked at 78 mph.  The 5-foot-10, 140-pound left-handed hitter will continue to get better as he physically develops.  Offensively, Freund showcased a level, line-drive left-handed swing. He hits with an open setup and demonstrated some barrel whip through the zone.
