4.29.15 - Illinois recruit, currently ranked No. 9 in Illinois’ 2015 class and No. 78 overall. Slightly built 5-foot-11, 170-pound catcher/outfielder who features premium athleticism. Ran a 6.53 laser-timed 60 at Super 60. Has top-level arm strength behind the plate, still refining his receiving skills. Offensively, hits from slightly open setup, quiet mechanics and creates easy bat speed with seemingly little effort. Flat bat path and maintains excellent balance through contact. May acquire more power when he physically develops.

6/19/14 - Lean athletic build with strength, excellent body type, 5-foot-10, 170-pound catcher/outfielder. Craan is one of the more impressive athletes in the class, ran an event best 6.55 in the 60 and showed the strongest arm out of the crouch at 81 mph. Defensively posted several pop times under 2.0, best pop time at 1.91, arm action has advanced carry, loose arm action and highly accurate. Receives well, athletic feet, moves out of the crouch well. In the outfield arm played at 90 mph, feet work quickly and athletically, plays through the baseball well. High level defender at either position. Offensively hits from an open stance, smooth loading action, short stride, strong balance. Bat path is short, gets extension through the baseball, quick hands, excellent line drive hitter, loose swing, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee.

2/16/14 5-foot-10, 170-pound catcher, strong build, highly athletic. Defensively uses a short, over the top arm action, showed occasional accuracy and carry. Posted a 1.87 pop time with an 81 mph arm from the crouch. Quick twitch actions, soft hands, and highly athletic feet. 6.59 runner in the 60. Offensively hits from an open stance, short stride, maintains balance. Bat path is flat through the zone, well above average bat speed, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Craan is one of most athletic catchers in the class, and projects as a high level athlete.

2/18/13 - Athletic, 5-foot-9, 165-pound catcher. Defensively shows quick twitch actions, athletic footwork. Well above average arm, 79 mph from the crouch, short over the top arm action, shows carry. 2.04-2.19 pop times. Receives well, soft hands, firm wrist. Offensively, hits from a balanced stance, uses short stride. Lower half could be involved more. Shows bat speed, path is short to the baseball, swing has violent tendencies, 83 mph exit velocity from the tee.
