10/20/13 - 5-foot-9, 165-pound two way player with arm strength. On the mound he has a drop and drive delivery with some effort and repeats it. Throws from a high ¾ slot with a short, loose, quick arm. Had feel for his fastball, which was straight and sitting 83-85 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape and sharp slider action to it, sitting 75-76 mph. Changeup was 73-75 mph with flashes of quality sinking action. At the plate he has an open, slightly crouched stance with a leg kick trigger. Swing is short with sound extension. Exit velocity was 84 mph off a tee. On the infield he throws with the same arm action as on the mound. Throws 76 mph with accuracy. Ran a 7.43 60.
1/20/13 - Small, strong body, some physicality, 5-foot-9, 165-pound switch hitting two-way player. On the mound showed explosiveness in delivery, drop and drive tendencies, high ¾ arm slot, loose arm action, arm quickness, above average arm speed, some rhythm, throws with conviction. Fastball has run, 84-85 mph touching 86 mph in windup, 83-84 mph from stretch. Curveball varied in action, mainly 11/5 tilt, flashed 12/6, showed curveball command, aggressive arm speed, 70-72 mph. Changeup showed arm side run, similar arm speed to fastball, 71-73 mph. Defensively showed loose arm, strong arm with carry and accuracy, 77 mph. Hits from both sides of the plate, more athleticism from right side, right side natural side, more pop from right side, left side lacks looseness, stiff feel from left side, hits off of front foot from left side.
10/28/12 - Pilas is a switch-hitting middle infielder who showed a solid approach from both sides of the plate. The 5-foot-8, 160-pound infielder exhibited soft hands defensively with fluid footwork. His arm is loose an accurate at 76 mph across the diamond. Offensively, Pilas showed the ability to hit from both sides of the plate using an open stance and a short stride. Pilas hits with a line drive, gap to gap approach in which he showed solid extension through the baseball.
2/20/12 Pilas is a 5-foot-8, 150-pound switch-hitting two-way player who showed well defensively.  Pilas showcased good lateral range, in addition to soft hands, and quick, concise footwork.  He impressed with his ability to play through the baseball and playing the ball on the run.  He was clocked at throwing 75 mph across the diamond.  Offensively, Pilas is a switch-hitter who showed more polish from the right side.  On the mound, Pilas has three pitches: a 75-79 mph fastball, a 68-69 changeup with sink, and a 69-72 mph cutter that has some two-plane action.
In the field, the athletic two-way talent showed good body control and soft hands while playing through the baseball. At the plate, the 5-foot-6, 130-pound player exhibited good hands and a level, line drive swing. On the mound, Pilas demonstrated a long arm action with a fastball that sat at 68-69 mph.
