The long and loose right-hander served as the Mustangs’ go-to ace throughout the spring. He finished with a 12-1 record in 14 starts. In 76 innings pitched, De La Riva struck out 66, walked 20 and yielded 87 hits while compiling a 2.76 ERA. De La Riva was one of the earliest commitments in the Class of 2012, choosing Purdue in the fall of his junior year.
