As one of the state's premier athletes, the junior left-handed hitter has stolen 68 bases in 2 seasons. He finished the year with a .455 BA, 50 runs, 46 hits, 28 SBs, 28 RBI, 8 doubles and 4 triples while leading Grant to a third-place finish in Class 3A.

 

6/14/12 Ring proved to be one of the top outfielders in the Class of 2013, showing well in all facets of the game.  Standing at 6-foot, 175-pounds, Ring is one of the most athletic players in his class, running an event best 6.60 60. Ring continued to show his athletic ability in the field, getting excellent reads off the bat and taking precise routes to the baseball. He showcased an accurate arm (87 mph) from the outfield that showed solid carry and ride. Offensively, Ring has an easy left-handed approach with an active lower half. He has a quiet overall approach, and looks to be a top-level leadoff type hitter.

2/19/12 Ring is a 6-foot, 175-pound outfielder who showed well in all facets of the game. He put his athleticism on display in the 60, running a 6.92, and in the outfield.  Defensively, Ring moves with ease and takes concise routes to the baseball.  He had one of the most accurate and strongest arms at the event (87 mph), with throws that were consistently around home plate.  Offensively, Ring has an advanced approach at the plate and takes an economical approach to the baseball.  He has an easy left-handed swing and an explosive lower half with excellent balance.

Ring is an athletic left-handed hitter who showed natural outfield instincts and an all-around aptitude for the game. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Ring exhibited a strong arm (84 mph) that had carry and was on target. He moves with fluidity and purpose to the ball, and his natural instincts and hands further separated him from the pack. Ring, who ran a 7.01 60, has a quick and compact swing from the left-side. He demonstrated good balance and barrel whip through the zone as he sprayed line drives to all fields.

Left-handed hitting OF broke school record with 40 stolen bases. Batted .455 as sophomore on the varsity team.
