College: Illinois State University Versatile athlete: 1.9 pop; 86 on mound, sub-7 runner... At 6-2, 182 pounds, Rhoades is an impressive athlete who can play several positions well. While his versatility is a plus, he will need to settle into one � or at least a few. It�ll be a tough decision for him. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Rhoades is one of the more intriguing prospects in the class. Extremely versatile and athletically gifted, Rhoades is a versatile performer whose strong arm translates wherever he�s at. On the mound, the long and loose right-hander topped at 85 mph with, it seems, much more in the tank. From the outfield, he was 85 mph as well. Rhoades opened eyes with his 6.88 60, too. The athletic 6-foot-3, 195-pound Rhoades is an extremely projectable right-hander with a live arm. Coming from a three-quarter arm slot, Rhoades� mid-80s fastball has a lot of sink and late movement. He also flashed a sharp, late-breaking slider that will look to be a plus pitch at the next level. At the plate, Rhoades showed good bat speed while staying inside the baseball. Equally as impressive, he also ran a 6.78 60 on a wet track.
