10.18.15 - 6-foot-4, 230-pound right-handed pitcher, large build. Tall and fall delivery with rhythm, stays directional, lands with slightly closed toe, balanced finish. Arm action is loose and full, high ¾ slot. Fastball runs to arm side, showed feel for the zone, 81-83 mph, touched 84 mph. Curveball rolls at 66-70 mph, knuckle curve grip. Changeup is near fastball arm action, fading to arm side, 72-76 mph.
1.18.15 - 6-foot-3, 210-pound RHP works from a long, loose, ¾ arm slot, tall/fall delivery, toe down at balance point, loads knee over rubber, lead leg straightens out, flies open with lower half, spins off at times towards first base. Fastball sat 80-81 mph with late arm side run. Showed feel for 69-72 mph knuckle curve with occasional 12/6 shape. 70-72 mph changeup flashes sinking action, slowed arm slightly. Swart has a physical frame and impresses with his feel for three pitches.
10.26.14 - 6-foot-3, 210-pound physically strong right-handed pitcher works from a long, loose, ¾ arm slot, easy effort, toe down at balance point, loads front knee over rubber, lead leg swings out and around with toe up, lands towards first base side, shoulders level throughout delivery, lands square. Fastball sat 80-82 with arm side run, horizontal movement. 12/6 knuckle curve thrown hard at 71-74 mph, makings of a power swing-and-miss pitch. 73-75 mph changeup thrown aggressively with arm side run, more sinking action than fastball. Swart has the makings of a three pitch mix, and a prototypical pitcher’s build. He’s a prospect to follow closely in the 2017 class over the next three years.
