College: Eastern Illinois University The 6-foot-7, 175-pound right-hander showed as the top prospect once again at the PBR Unsigned senior event. Borens ability to throw three quality pitches for strikes separates him from the rest, and should allow him to compete at an elite level moving forward. Borens fastball comes from a high arm slot with some run coming in at 84-86 mph consistently. His curveball also showed well with tight, late break. His changeup, however, looks to be a plus pitch, as it displayed late downward arm side sink. Borens arm works so free and easily that it is plain to see that he will continue to add velocity as he physically develops. Borens was the biggest revelation at the Unsigned Senior event, and clearly should be one of the most coveted right-handers in the state. Borens is a lean 6-foot-7, 175-pounder with a lot of room to fill out. His size and athletic frame alone make him an interesting prospect, but his fluid arm and command of three pitches elevate him into a high-level recruit status. Borens fastball consistently registered at 85-86 mph with it seems a lot more in the tank. Furthermore, he displayed a sharp-breaking curveball with good depth and command. Borens also showed a quality changeup with good arm action and late fade.
