2.19.17 - 6-foot-5, 215-pound right-handed pitcher. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Works exclusively out of the stretch. Drop and drive delivery working in line with home plate. Struggled with command in bullpen session. Fastball has running action at 83-85 mph. Curveball sat 72-73 mph. Changeup blended with fastball at 79-83 mph.

1.17.16 - Sturdy, plenty of room for continued physical development 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. Above-average arm strength for his age. Whippy, quick arm action, tall and fall delivery. Regular effort throughout delivery and closed landing. Currently, everything in his three-pitch mix is firm. Fastball showed some life and sat 82-85 mph.  Curveball worked 11/5 with short break and sat at 78 mph. Changeup was thrown hard and ranged between 81-82 mph. Given his frame, quick and whippy arm action it’s easy to believe his velocity will continue to improve as he matures.
7.20.15 - Typical pitchers body, projects well, 6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Worked exclusively from the stretch. Regular effort, loose arm action, ¾ slot, occasionally gets underneath. Fastball has run, heavy with occasional boring action going in to left-handed hitters, ranged 79-82 mph. Effectively wild in his outing, missed a lot of barrels flashing swing and miss action in the hitting zone. Curveball has 10/4 shape, thrown near fastball arm speed, 70-72 mph. Flashed a straight change at 70-72 mph.
10.26.14 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound lanky and projectable right-handed pitcher works from a short, high ¾ arm slot, tall-and-fall delivery, loads front knee back over the rubber, shoulders work downhill, stride direction stays in line with home plate, lands square. Fastball sat 77-79 mph touching 80 mph with sinking action. 12/6 curveball shows flashes at 65-66 mph. Changeup thrown firm at 74-75 mph, gets underneath at times. Dirkes is an extremely projectable freshman to keep a close eye on over the next several years.
