3.20.15 - Committed to Grambling State.
1.11.15 - Thick build, advanced physicality, 6-foot, 205-pound outfielder, advanced overall strength with power potential in bat. Offensively hits from a slightly closed stance, short stride, high hands and back elbow setup. Strong swing, very muscular, shows power potential in bat. Line drive type hitter, occasionally lifts the baseball, 91 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively plays through the baseball, shows athleticism. Ran the 60 in 7.47. Arm played well from the outfield, short over the top slot, some accuracy, showed carry at 85 mph.
2/16/14 Impressive physical specimen. 6-foot, 200-pound frame, remarkably strong lower half, developed shoulders; for as strong as he is, still possesses looseness and quick-twitch athleticism. Right-handed hitter, balanced aggressive approach. Does not get cheated in box. Creates excellent bat speed and barrel whip through zone, pullside approach; when timing is right, ball jumps off bat with backspin carry. Recorded 87 mph exit velocity off tee. From outfield, has shorter arm action, ball carries better than 82 mph would indicate; takes aggressive routes, moves well for size. Ran a 7.26 60.

6/13/12 Wheeler is an athletic, raw 6-foot, 195-pound multi-positional player who impressed with his athleticism. He showcased some arm strength from the outfield (80 mph) with throws that had solid carry.  Offensively, Wheeler uses his strong lower half and takes an economical approach to the baseball.  Wheeler has good whip through the zone and has a solid approach at the plate, spraying line drives to all fields. Additionally, Wheeler ran a 7.44 60.
