Defensively, he moved well for his size using fluid footwork to get to the baseball. He used a long arm action showing some accuracy to his target, registering 75 mph from the outfield. On the mound, Schumacher threw from an over the top arm slot producing a 75-80 mph fastball. His curveball was clocked at 72-73 mph, while his change up is 70-72 mph.
