4.14.15 - 6-foot, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, works from a short, over-the-top arm slot, toe up at balance point, slow and controlled delivery, straight-up and down leg lift, doesn’t load knee over the rubber, lands slightly closed at foot strike, in line with home plate. Fastball sat 81-84 mph, reaching back from 86-87 when he wanted it. Pitched backwards all game, throwing a majority of breaking balls first pitch, and when behind in the count. Curveball thrown 69-72 mph, 11/5 shape, feel for strikes. Slider is put away pitch, induced O’Fallon to chase, thrown harder at 74-77 mph. Also threw a 73-75 mph changeup, recording two swinging strikeouts to right-handed hitters. Displayed plus sinking action down and in to the righties. Lloyd is ranked No. 171 in Illinois and is committed to Parkland.
6.19.13 - Lloyd is a 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed pitcher with some projectability. Showed direction on the mound, working in line with the plate. Has short arm action and releases from an over-the-top arm slot. Threw his fastball at 78-80 mph flashing sink. Off-speed pitches were more developed – curveball was thrown for strikes at 63-65 mph with 11/5 action; and showed good feel for his changeup sitting 69-71 mph with sink.
