10/9/16:  The 6-foot-1, 195 pound catcher showcased pop times that ranged between 2.22-2.27 with some accurate throws.  Velocity topped at 69 from behind the plate.  Arm action and exchange are long.  At first base, hands are soft with heavy feet.  Offensively, Frederick hits from a balanced crouch with minimal stride.  Bat speed is average with a level path.  Swing has fluidity while producing line drives.  Frederick ran a 7.96 60yd dash.

9/21/14: A 5-foot-11, 185 pound catcher, Frederick was 2.43-2.57 with his pop times and 63 mph from the crouch.  Possesses a big, strong frame and shows flexibility in his hips but is stiff with his hands.  Needs to soften up his hands and let the ball travel to his glove. Fairly quiet receiver.  Will need to continue to improve his posture in order to improve his receiving skills as well as improve keeping corner pitches in the zone.  At the plate starts balanced but opens up during his stride.  Does not load.   Bat speed is average with a long path.  Pull-side hitter.  Was 62 across the diamond from 1B with raw actions.  Tends to play on his heels instead of coming through the baseball.
