2/23/13: 6-foot-2, 210 pound junior has wide shoulders with a big, athletic frame.  In the field has a long arm action and was 82 mph across the diamond with carry.  Showcases soft hands and moves well around the bag.  Advanced feel for the position.  At the plate uses a balanced setup with a smooth load.  His stride is short and shows good use of the lower half.  Possesses quick bat speed and a level path to the baseball producing gap to gap power.  Overall good approach and fluid rhythm.  On the mound Body works at a quick pace, but has some choppiness in delivery. Repeats it well.  Throws from a high ¾,arm action. Fastball shows late run at 84-85. Breaking ball is an 11/5 CB with late movement. Change shows arm side run, but struggled in the strike zone.

Young is a 6-foot 3 205 pound big bodied first baseman/RHP from McCutcheon. At the plate, Jordan demonstrates good barrel whip with good hands. He has pop now and even more projectable pop as he continues to add strength. He shows good movement at first and works well around the bag. On the mound, Jordan is 80-83 with good offspeed pitches. It is still too early to tell which will be his strongest position.

Young is a 6-foot-2 inch, 210 pound sophomore with a great frame. He will continue to grow into his body making him a prototypical college first baseman. Young hits for power and shows quick hands at the plate. Defensively, he demonstrates good hands and enough athleticism to play in the field. On the mound Jordan displayed a short arm action that produced a consistent 81-83mph fastball with some arm side run. He touched 84 mph once and projects to be a power hitter with a potential power arm. Young is a high follow in the 2014 class.
