8/5/15 - Johnson is a 6-foot-1 180-pound right-handed pitcher.  Recently committed to SIU-Edwardsville. Posted one of the top fastball velos of the event at 87 mph, sitting 84-86 mph.  Has power on curveball at 70-72 mph, late and sharp 11-to-5 action, produces swing and miss. Throws strikes with both pitches, three strikeouts, one hit, one run during game action.  Arm works, repeats release point, fastball arm speed on curveball, throws downhill.
2/16/15 - Johnson is a right-handed pitcher that attends Blue Valley HS in Stilwell, KS. 6-foot-1,160-pound frame. Class of 2016. High knee lift from wind-up, tucks, three-quarters slot, arm works, athletic finish. Simple delivery with rhythm and flow. Gets out front with ease and pounds bottom of the strike zone with fastball, 83-85 mph, tops out at 86. Command of breaking ball with 11/5 to 12/6 shape, 69-70 mph. Change-up 75-76 mph. Easy-armed righty with an athletic frame and delivery, more in the tank velocity-wise.
11/2/14 - Johnson is a projectable, athletic-framed 6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed pitcher. Delivery is simple and under control throughout, throws with natural three-quarters arm action, easy arm, repeats. Fastball has arm side run and occasional late sinking action down in the zone, 82-84 mph, spiked to 86 on one pitch – an increase from when we saw him top out at 82 earlier this fall and upper 70’s this summer. Showed an 11/5 breaking ball, some with late, sharp break – also an improvement from the summer when he threw more of a 12-6 spinner. Feel for a 71-72 mph change-up that has similar sinking action to his fastball. Plenty of room to fill out his present thin frame. Trending up.
10/5/14 - Johnson is an easy-armed and athletic 6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed pitcher.  Worked one inning, struck out two batters, fastball velocity 80-82 mph, also showed 12/6 breaking ball at 65-65 mph and 71-72 mph change-up.
