2/21/16 - Peyla is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound shortstop and right-handed pitcher that attends Junction City HS in Kansas. Class of 2017. He ran a 4.53 home to first and has an exit velo of 92 mph, one of top RHH exit velos for the event. At the plate, starts with a thin and open stance, smooth rhythm with accelerated and aggressive bat speed, showed power to the pull side, mostly line drives to middle/pull side of cage.  On the infield, athletic actions, quick feet, loose arm action, high three quarter release, 80 mph positional velo, one of top infield velos for the event, works through the ball with momentum. Tall, athletic right-hander with some strength. Simple and under control early, aggressive move to the plate, simple strike, excellent body control throughout. Repeats well. Quick, high three-quarters arm action, arm works. Fastball has arm-side run, at times late, works down, 84-87 mph. Flashed a sharp 11/5 breaking ball, 69-72 mph, worked down – knees and lower. Maintains arm speed with change-up, feel for this pitch, 76-78 mph. Physical right-hander with a chance to add velocity and develop high-level fastball command.
6/2/15 - Charlie is a 6'4 190-pound right handed hitting infielder and a right handed pitcher from Junction City. Is a good defender with soft hands and a quick fluid glove and exchange. Made accurate throws with carry with a top positional velo of 82 mph.Can run and move for his size posting a 7.13 60/yd. Stays upright and balanced in the box with a easy smooth load with strong hands and quick swing and a 91 exit velo and a single in game action. On the mound, has a easy delivery that at his balance point just explodes to the plate. Repeats his delivery and a high 3/4 arm slot with a smooth loose arm and max fastball of 85 mph, while working 81-84 mph in game action and mixing in a 70-71 mph breaking ball.

10/19/14 - Peyla is a physical 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-hand hitting corner infielder and right-handed pitcher that started for Junction City’s 6A state tournament team as a freshman in 2014. At the plate has an athletic set-up, slightly open stance, smooth hand load, strides inline, maintains balance throughout and finishes with extension. Aggressive swing with bat speed, ball carries well when he connects.  Exit velocity 90 mph, best in camp. Went 1-for-2 with a walk and double to left center field in game action, also stole a base. Ran a 4.45 home-to-first. During defensive evaluations at first base showed athletic footwork, soft hands, clean exchanges, easy three-quarters throwing motion, 82 mph throwing velocity (top mark among infielders), all accurate throws. Strong athlete, bat projects. On the mound starts under control, short knee lift, level shoulders, strides inline, quick  three-quarters arm action, arm works, athletic finish. Simple, efficient delivery for a big guy, repeats. Fastball runs and sinks, some cutting action glove side, 78-81 mph. Curveball 64-67 mph. Works down in the zone.  Faced five batters in the game, one hit, three strikeouts, no walks.
6/18/14 - Peyla is a sturdy-framed 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed pitcher.  He showed deliberate delivery, excellent body control and simple, repeatable delivery.  He throws with quick, clean arm action from a high three-quarters slot.  His fastball was clocked at 81-83 mph with arm side run.  He also showed feel for a 66-69 curveball and 63-64 change-up.  In the game, he pounded the bottom of the strike zone and struck out two of the five batters he faced.
6/18/14 - Peyla is a 6-foor-2, 195-pound right-hand hitting first baseman.  In infield workouts he showed quick hands and feet and made strong accurate throws using short, quick high three-quarters arm action – he moves exceptionally well for such a physical player.  His top throwing velocity was 77 mph.  At the plate he has an athletic set-up and slightly open stance.  He has a fluid hand load and very short inline stride.  Peyla showed bat speed, balance throughout his swing and extension.  His swing is built to drive the ball gap-to-gap – the ball jumps off his bat.  His top exit velocity was clocked at 87 mph.  Peyla collected one hit in three at bats during the games.  He ran 4.62 home-to-1B from the right side.
