Bebee

Bebee is an athletic 6-foot-2 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher and shortstop in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.22 60 and a 4.66 home to first.  He had an 87 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance, leg kick, lands slightly closed, accelerates through the ball, quick and strong hands, power to pull side, fast bat speed, feel for the barrel.  Behind the plate, 78 mph positional velocity, pop times between 1.90-2.01-seconds, short over the top arm slot, quick exchange, feet create momentum to throw, mostly accurate throws with carry to the bag. On the infield, 82 mph positional velocity, fields ball out front in athletic position, gains ground with footwork, on time with clean transfer, high three quarters arm slot, mostly accurate throws.

2/16/19 – Bebee has a strong build and athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds. At the event he ran a 7.26 60 and posted an exit velocity of 89 mph, one of the tops recorded. During hitting evaluations, Bebee starts with an open stance, knee pinch into his load, in line stride, showed feel for the barrel, extension through the baseball, high finish with hands, pop to left field during batting practice. Defensively behind the plate, Bebee showed good actions, quick three-quarter arm action, pop times between 1.89 and 1.97 seconds (top times recorded at event), mostly accurate throws, strong arm with carry and positional velo of 79 mph. On the infield, Bebee showed his off his athleticism, fluid footwork, quick arm, momentum towards first base, positional velo of 84 mph, accurate throws. On the mound, Bebee has a fluid and rhythmic delivery, direction towards home plate, higher leg kick, clean arm action, high three-quarter release, accelerates down the mound. Fastball is 83-85 mph, will mix in a 2 seam as well, arm side run, changeup is near fastball armspeed, lowers arm slot, 76-78 mph with some sink, curveball is 69 mph, 12-to-6 shape, late bite, slider is 71-73 mph, 10-to-4 shape, gradual action, thrown for strikes.

6/5/18 - Bebee is an athletic 6-foot-2 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 7.32 60, a 4.78 home to first and has an exit velocity of 87 mph. At the plate, consistent hard contact gap to gap during hitting evals, thin set up, slightly open, level and quick bat speed, some hand load, repeats swing, doubled and singled in game action.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.00 and 2.11-seconds, 75 mph positional velocity, wide set up, quick exchange with high three quarters arm slot, accurate throws.

1/27/18 - Bebee is a 6-foot-2 170-pound right-haded hitting catcher, infielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class. Bebee ran a 7.56 60 and has a 79 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts slightly open, pre-pitch rhythm in hands, controlled leg kick, body stays under control, in line stride, level path, stays on ball after contact, gap to gap approach.  Behind the plate, pop times between 1.98 to 2.03-seconds, 77 mph positional velocity, offset feet in set up, over the top release, quick jab step and exchange, footwork creates momentum to throw, mostly accurate throws. On the infield, 85 mph positional velocity, gains ground after the catch and transfer, smooth exchange, fields ball out front of feet, loose over the top arm action. On the mound, Bebee has a high three quarters arm slot, controlled leg lift, accelerates down the mound with some effort, finish falls to first base side, fastball at 80-82 mph, works downhill, 66-68 mph breaking ball,12-to-6 action,  70-72 mph change up, some with sink.

1/28/17 - Bebee is a 5-foot-11 153-pound right-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a laser timed 7.64 60 and a 4.59 home to first.  He has an 80 mph exit velo.  At the plate, gap to gap approach, open stance, wide base, level path with loose accelerated bat head, fell for the barrel.  Behind the plate, quick feet working with quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws, pop times between 1.96 and 2.24-seconds, top pop time of the event, 71 mph postiona velo, projectable lean frame. On the mound, Bebee showed command of fastball and feel for two off-speed pitches.  Fastball was 78-79 mph, works both sides of plate, 67-69 mph breaking ball, 11-to-5 shape, some having depth, finds the bottom of zone, change up at 71-73 mph, near fastball arm speed.  Athletic delivery, short and compact, repeats, accelerates down the mound, over the top arm slot.
