7/11/17 - Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 9 in Kansas’ 2018 class. 6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. Quick-twitch athlete, ran a 6.46 laser-timed 60. Offensively, hits from an open setup, maintains balance through contact, uphill path, registered 90 mph exit velocity with wood. Defensively, moves well in outfield, short arm swing, over the top slot, clocked at 77 mph.

6/27/17 - Halstead has an athletic build at 6-foot 175 pounds is a left-handed throwing and swinging outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 6.61 laser timed 60 and 3.96 home-to-first, both being the fastest times at the event. Exit velo was 91 mph. During batting practice, Halstead starts with an open stance, quick hands, displayed some pop with a gap-to-gap approach and a level bat path. During game action he struck the ball very well twice, both times lining out to left field. Defensively, Halstead showed a plus arm with a positional velo of 80 mph, accurate throws and good actions.

5/31/16 - Halstead is a 6-foot 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder from Kansas’ 2018 class.  He ran a 6.46 60, fastest time for the event, and has a 4.15 home-to-first time, one of the best LHH times.  He posted an 84 mph exit velo. At the plate, line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice, slightly open stance, in line stride, quick hands, level though the zone.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick twitch movement, athletic footwork, quick catch and throw, clean exchange, mostly accurete throws.

11/1/15 - Halstead is a 5-foot-11 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class.  Halstead posted one of the event’s best 60 times at 6.77, and had an 85 mph exit velo, also one of the top for the event. Halstead ran a 4.32 home-to-first from the left side. At the plate, started in slightly open stance, minimal movement in hands during load, hands and back side in sync, sprayed ball to both gaps during batting practice, power potential to pull side. In the outfield, 76 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, quick feet and quick exchange, plays through the ball, mostly accurate throws.
