10/2/16 - Max FB: 80, FB: 77-79, CB: 66-70,
6-foot-2, 210-pound RHP showed very much the same as we saw him at our last event that he attended this past summer, begins from a staggered and crouched stance on the rubber, throws exclusively out of the stretch and uses a unique delivery to throw the hitters off, front leg goes straight into his stride as he slightly stands up during his approach to the plate, jerky and sidearm release point, usually finishes balanced. Fastball showed run that is sometimes very hard with good sink, curveball had sweeping 10/4 shape through the zone.  Recorded 2 strikeouts and allowed a single in game play.
6/14/16 - Max FB: 77, FB: 75-77, CB: 67-68, CH: 66
6-foot-2, 215-pound RHP uses a very low/crouched (somewhat awkward) setup from the stretch only but it works for him, sidearm pitcher, fastball shows good run and sink and helps him miss barrels, curveball was effective when he didn’t get under it with sweeping 10/4 action and produced a few swings and misses, threw one changeup that mimicked the fastball with good velocity difference, worked two hitless innings recording all infield outs. Wheeler could be a very effective pitcher out of the bullpen at the next level.
7/23/14 - 6-foot-1, 185-pound sidearm pitcher, lands significantly to first base side, fastball sat 70-72 mph touching 73 and shows some arm-side run, showed a 62 mph curveball that he tended to get under, delivery has some funk and deception, able to throw strikes from the sidearm slot. As a position player, ran a 8.69 60-yard dash, 76 mph tee exit velocity. Right handed hitter, slightly open stance, uses a leg kick trigger, level swing path, went 0-for-3 in game play with two strikeouts. Defensively showed adequate hands, room to improve footwork, 68 mph arm across the infield.
