6/17/15 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound RHP with ideal pitcher’s frame that projects well, uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot, arm shows some quickness with regular effort, fastball sat 81-84 mph mostly straight, shows good confidence in his 68-71 mph curveball that has good depth and sharp 11/5 action, stuck with the fastball/curveball mix in game action, throws strikes with both pitches consistently, allowed one hit, no walks, and struck out three (two swinging on curveballs) in his two innings of work, projectable arm has shown significant velocity gains.
1/17/15 - 6-foot-4, 185-pound RHP with ideal pitcher’s frame that offers good projection, smooth delivery that he repeats well, clean arm action that is loose, works through a high-3/4 arm slot, throws 79-81 mph fastball that touched 82 on one occasion for strikes, 64-67 mph curveball varies between 11/5 and 12/6 action with good depth and has potential to be a very good pitch, throws a 71-74 mph changeup with good arm action, showed a 2-3 mph velocity increase since last summer, expect more velocity gains, big upside.
6/17/14 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound prospect with good pitcher’s frame, long and lanky build with room to fill, uses long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, arm is loose and works well, fastball sat 77-79 mph, curveball showed sharp 12/6 action with good depth at 66-68 mph, shows good command of both pitches with the ability to throw his curveball for strikes in any count, would expect velocity gains for O’Neil in the near future, definite prospect to keep an eye on from the 2016 class.
