8/16/14 - 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect, athletic frame with projection, good tempo in delivery, works through a low ¾ slot that produces significant arm-side run on fastball which sat 80-82 mph, through a 74 mph changeup once, secondary pitches will need continued development, allowed one hit and walked none in two innings of work, committed to Marshall University following the event.
2/18/13 - We have seen Kelly twice and really like his projectability and upside on the mound.  He is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound LHP with long legs and arms.  He shows loose arm action and easy effort through a ¾ arm slot that produced an 80-82 mph fastball with arm side run.  His curveball shows 1/7 action and is good when down in the zone at 65-67 mph.  He shows good feel for his 72-74 mph changeup that he throws with good arm action.  Kelly is certainly a prospect to watch in the class of 2015 as we expect significant velocity gains in the near future.
1/21/13 - Kelly is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect with very good projectability on the mound.  He showed good balance and a loose arm through a ¾ arm slot that produced an 81-82 mph fastball with some arm side run.  He showed good command of his curveball that sat 68-71 mph with late 1/7 action and tight spin.  He also showed good command of his changeup that he throws with good arm action that sat 74-75 mph with some run and sink.  Kelly should continue to see velocity gains and has the potential to develop into a high-level, left-handed pitching prospect in the Class of 2015.  As a position player,  left-handed hitting prospect, long frame, soft hands, shows some lateral movement, 74 mph arm strength across the infield.  Offensively, hits from wide base, arm bar in load, short stride, gets some lower half involved, shows good balance, level path to the ball with occasional uphill path, registered 81 mph tee exit velocity.
