7/9/13 - 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect, good frame, shows athletic feet and soft hands, 74 mph arm across the infield.  At the plate, hits from open setup, short stride, explosive lower half generates barrel whip through the zone, shows some pull pop driving a few balls off the left field fence, ran 7.18 60 yard dash, 81 mph tee exit velocity.  On the mound, uses long and loose arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, mechanics stay on-line, occasionally lower half gets ahead of arm leaving the ball up, shows easy effort in delivery, fastball sat consistently 83-85 mph with some arm-side life touching 87 on his last fastball of the day, curveball shows 12/6 action at 65-69 mph, shows good command of changeup with some run and sink at 70 mph, shows good command of splitter at 68-69 mph with some sinking action.  Beach has the potential to become a high-level pitching prospect in Indiana’s 2015 class.
