6-foot-2, 185-pound RHP committed to Xavier University following the event. Has an athletic frame with a quick arm that works through an over the top arm slot, has some effort and head snap in delivery, fastball works on a downhill plane at times, shows a sharp curveball with 11/5 and occasional 12/6 action, came after hitters aggressively with the fastball, allowed three hits and walked one in his inning of work.

As a position player, hits from a balanced stance, short stride, short swing, lacks full involvement of lower half at times, showed opposite field approach in BP, went 0-for-3 in game play. Shows solid hands and average footwork around the first base bag, big arm strength with accurate throws, registered the top infield velocity of the event. Nelson committed to Xavier University following the event.
2/14/15 - 6-foot, 175-pound RHP uses long arm action and works through a high-3/4 slot, good lower half direction, shows ability to throw strikes with all three of his pitches, fastball shows slight arm-side run at 79-80 mph, throws a solid curveball with sharp 11/5 action at 69-70 mph and shows good feel for the pitch, curveball is best present secondary pitch, changeup shows good sink and fade when he stays behind it at 67-71 mph, shows cut action when he gets around it occasionally, has solid potential on the mound with additional velocity likely. As a position player, right-handed hitter hits from a balanced stance with a short stride, stays quiet and shows some hand quickness, minimal load, line drive type swing with extension through contact, hit several line drives in his round, ran 7.95 60-yard dash, 79 mph exit velocity. Defensively, shows adequate hands, average footwork, arm is loose and athletic, long high-3/4 release with 78 mph velocity across the infield.
