6-foot-0, 190-pound, LHP has a solid build and shows athletic movements on the mound that comes largely in part to his 2-way ability, hands come down and back up with a smooth leg lift and rhythm, stride toward the plate is mostly in line, long and loose arm action comes through a high ¾ release point with pretty regular effort, finishes athletically and stays well balanced and under control throughout his delivery.  Pounded the zone with his fastball that showed occasional run, breaking ball had 1/7 shape through the zone, changeup stayed mostly straight but was a good change of pace, Thompson works quick with good tempo.

6-foot-0, 190-pound, LHH hits from a balanced and open stance, uses a long stride and a movement back with his hands to get loaded, good bat speed comes from a mostly flat swing plane, can get steep on lower pitches, displayed a pull approach with some good power.  Defensively, showed good hands and footwork around the back, plays athletically, long arm action come through a high ¾ slot, throws had some carry and accuracy.  Recorded a double and a HBP in game play.

8/2/16 - Max FB: 82, FB: 80-82, CB: 65-67
6-foot-0, 190-pound LHP built off his dominant Top Prospect Games performance with another impressive outing. Works quickly with clean arm action through a high-3/4 slot with normal effort in delivery, fastball shows arm-side run, attacks hitters with an aggressive mentality and not afraid to pitch inside, curveball has solid 1/7 action for strikes. Thompson allowed an infield single, walked one, and struck out two (both swinging on FB) in his two innings of work. He remains one of the top uncommitted LHP’s in the 2017 class.
8/2/16 - 60 Time: 7.65, Position Velocity:  IF-79, Exit Velocity: 90
6-foot-0, 190-pound LHH hits from a balanced stance, short stride, uses strong lower half to create torque in swing, keeps the barrel in the zone and creates lift at contact, showed power in BP and followed that up with a long HR to RF in game play. Average hands and movement around the bag at first base, accurate throws with good arm strength.

6/15/16 - Max FB: 83, FB: 81-82, CB: 65-66, CH: 68,
6-foot, 190-pound LHP had a very impressive outing, showed excellent pitchability in working the strike zone effectively with all pitches, arm action is clean and quick, works quickly with an aggressive mentality, works fastball on both sides of the plate and not afraid to pitch inside, fastball shows occasional run, curveball has solid 1/7 action, threw one changeup in his outing with good arm action. Thompson worked two perfect innings with five strikeouts (4 swinging FB, 1 looking CB) in his two innings of work.
