8/17/20

6 feet, 185 pounds, lean, athletic build. Already adding muscle to the frame with broad shoulders. Average athleticism, posting a 4.56 home-to-first time. In the box, Libby stands open to even, with hands that work low by the letters. There is some pop in the offensive profile, shown off by his 87 mph tee exit velocity as well as performance in game, where he collected two single and flew out to deep center field twice. His feet setup shoulder width apart Libby is under control in the box with a left handed swing that is level-up. Showed good bat-to-ball skills over the course of the showcase. Defensively, Libby has smooth, clean actions. Throws to third base from first were recorded up to 75 mph. He works primarily from a ¾ slot. He moves well around the bag with soft hands. Made a few impressive picks on throws in the dirt over the course of the simulated games. Also a left-handed pitcher, Libby works a three pitch mix, including a fastball that comes in between 71-73 mph. The pitch has the expected lefty run to it. He mixes in a loopy curveball that at times shows 11/5 or 12/6 shape, and is 61-66 mph. Gaining consistency with the breaking ball will be key to his development as a pitcher. The changeup comes in between 62-64 mph. Overall, Libby has some promise as a late bloomer for the 2018 class. His future is likely as a position player, with a solid ability to get on base and hit for some power.

Home-First: 4.56

Exit Velocity: 87 MPH

Arm Velocity: 75 MPH

12/13/15
Left-handed hitting first baseman who threw 72 mph with an easy and clean throwing motion. His feet were good around the bag as well. Ran a 7.7 60-yard dash. The bat has strength to it, tee exit velocity of 82 mph. An even stance with a slight squat, allowing the hands to work clean and direct. Handles the barrel very well and has showed the ability to stay behind the ball at contact, allowing him to spread the field. On the mound, he showed long ¾ arm action. The fastball sat at 70 mph and had run to it. The changeup has some fade to it at 64 mph and the breaking ball is a work in progress at 61 mph. He has crossfire to his feet in the delivery but threw a bunch of strikes in the session.
